So, you're probably wondering why the hell I named my blog some foreign-thingamabob word, instead of something English and normal. (You didn't? Oh well, good for you.) Yeah, well, that's me. I'm neither English nor normal. More like, citizen of the world and crazy.
But really, here's the serious shmush I came up with by way of explanation:
Sprezzatura is an Italian word that, in the Renaissance, meant effortless perfection. Excellence without sweat. But that's not life. That's not reality. Excellence--the Ateneo way--is won through hard work, blood, sweat, and tears. Contrasprezzatura.
And that's what this blog will be about. The effort behind the outcomes, the story behind every success or failure in my last year in college. Sleepless nights, caffeine overdose, cram culture, ad infinitum. Whatever the outcome may be, the effort behind it won't pass without mention. The story won't remain untold.
Contra-what?!
